A lot of ideas are popping in my head. It's always like this, specially if there is something that I'm very excited or interested with. I find it hard to sleep since my head is really loud and crazy. Images, topics, memories, everything passes through so fast and I think it affected my dream last night. It's great really but I just let it go. I've read an article one time, and it says that if there is something that you've thought and you think it is something good or interesting, you should write it down. I didn't wrote it though. Why? Well got cocky again I guess. I just know that there will always be something interesting that will pop in my head so I didn't bother getting up on my bed just to write those ideas.
I've always wanted to do this, blogging and stuff, like what I said in my first blog you think your life is meaningless and has no direction. Since I was young I tend to write things down. I first made a scrapbook/journal when I was in first year high school. Wrote things about my classmates, experiences, teachers, frustrations, having my first boyfriend and stuff; pretty much about everything. A lot of momento's were also sticked on it (pictures, candy wrappers from special friends, letters, roses, etc.)
Don't really know when I started liking to write. I love to read, and I don't know if consequently you should love writing also. In my case, my love of discovering things through reading influenced my writing abilities. When I was in junior and senior high school my teachers let me compete in essay writing at school and I usually win. Never tried to write school newspaper though. It would have been great if I did, my writing skills could have been better since there will be a lot of practicing plus there would be mentors and advisers.
IF YOU ARE GOOD AT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD FOCUS ON IT AND BE GOOD AT IT.
Professionals say when you're good at something you should not do it for free. During high school I made school projects for my classmates or schoolmates. Earned a lot from those. Thankfully, my brother gave me a computer and a printer, those were utilized pretty well. This is an instance of using your talent practically. Gained a lot from this. My typing skills improved a lot, got better in problem solving, become more creative in making projects, earned extra money, gained a lot of friends and many more. Didn't really thought of my writing skills seriously that time. For me though writing is essential, since I release stress through writing. Even my college major isn't journalism or any course related to writing. Psychology requires good writing ability though since we have to write a lot of research and psychological interpretations so I think I was able to enhance my writing skills also.
LISTEN TO CRITICISMS AND COMPLIMENTS. BOTH ARE HELPFUL
Most of the time I was showered with compliments and adorations. My mom made it a habit to brag how pretty I am when I was a kid, how smart I am; that I started reading newspapers when I was 2 or 3 years old, that I'm gifted with a beautiful voice then she will make me sing in front of those people. Didn't help on getting rid of my stage fright though. Boosted my ego a lot and sometimes it may have affected how I take criticsms. Sometimes, when I felt offended or bothered by criticsms I tend to keep things to myself that I began to torture myself for not doing well. It shouldn't be like that. Criticsm are good to take specially if they are from knowledgeable people. I value those criticsms, those from I know really knows stuffs. It really depends on how you take things. For an instance there is really a bad comment about your work if you take it in a positive way like maybe there is something that you need to improve or change you will re-evaluate yoursel, it's either you learn from it or realize that you made a good job proving those criticsms to be untrue.
YOU HAVE TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR SKILLS
Being humble is good but I think it's not for yourself though its for the others. You humble yourself to make other people like you. Who would love to hear a conceited person for a long time. Everyone would get annoyed hearing endless self praises and all those stuff they're good at. I didn't mean it you do it in that extent. What I do for example is I acknowledge that I really have a good voice. Since according to statistics of those people who believes that I do is an evidence that I am a good singer. This happens when I hear compliments well. But of course you have to corellate everything to your honest evaluation to make it credible. But believing in yourself even if you are not that good helps your motivation and drive to be better in what you love to do.
JUST KEEP DOING WHAT YOU LOVE. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT INDEED
A beautiful filipina actress +Anne Curtis-Smith is an example. At first music seems to hate her when she tries to sing. Overtime, after practicing a lot and doing voice lessons and stuff now she's doing a lot of concerts, made an album and if I hear her sing I believe she's pretty good at it already. She improved a lot. Anyone can do that. Even my older sister, she's really out of tune when she was younger but after voice trainings her singing skills got superb. Learn new things about what you love to do. Just like in a relationship you have to keep learning things about your partner to get a good connection for a better relationship. Pulled that out deep ^_^ (malalim na hugot).
IF YOU'RE GOOD AT SOMETHING. SHARE IT
That's what I am doing right now. ;) This is very long I don't know If you will have patience to read all this but thank you if you did. Lots of Love.
